We think Whiskybase should be a platform where people should be able to communicate with each other.
There a few options to send messages:
1. You have to enable this feature in your profile settings. By default this is disabled. In order to send and receive message go to: profile settings -> privacy and enable: Receive messages
2. Market sellers and buyers can't disable this feature. In order to sell on the Market people should be able to contact you. So we enabled this.
3. Admins, moderators and specialists can receive and send messages to anyone. We agreed that in order to work on Whiskybase and be able to ask questions when bottles are submitted or questions about ratings on the site it should be possible to send messages.
4. When you are friends with another member the message function is available and you are able to send and receive messages from that person.
