How do I add a new listing?

Modified on Tue, 14 Oct at 4:09 PM

To add a new listing to your shop, you must first locate the exact bottle in the Whiskybase database.

1. Find the Correct Bottle

  1. Use the Search Bar: Locate the database search bar at the top of the page. Enter the full name of the bottle you are listing and click Search. You can also find the search tool here
  2. Review Search Results: You will be redirected to a results page. You will see a list of potential matches. Use the "Sort by" dropdown menu to filter or sort results by specific details.
  3. Open the Bottle Page: Once you find the correct match, click the bottle to open its bottle page.

Important Note: Double-check that all the details on the Bottle Page exactly match the physical bottle you have in your shop.

2. Create the Listing

  1. On the Bottle Page, look on the right-hand side, below any existing listings.
  2. Click the green "+ Add a listing" button.
  3. Add a listing: A pop-up window will appear where you can enter the required details for your listing, including the shop's name, price, currency, and the direct link to the product on your external shop. Make sure the correct shop is selected from the dropdown menu before adding the listing.

Important Note: Any shop listing that redirects to an external marketplace (such as Amazon, eBay, etc.) will be immediately removed following our Terms and Conditions. Listings must link directly to the product on your own retail shop website.

Once your listing has been added, it will appear on the bottle's page. You can find an overview of all of your shop's listings in your shop's page. You can find more information here.

Listings Order of Appearance

When a user views the Bottle Page, the shop listings are displayed in the following order:

  1. Sponsored Listings are always shown at the top. The order in which individual sponsored shops appear shuffles every time a user opens the bottle's page. Learn more about Sponsored Listings here.
  2. Free Listings appear below the Sponsored Listings. The order of shops within the free listings section also shuffles every time a user opens the bottle's  page.
