What is a listing?

Modified on Thu, 2 Oct at 2:51 PM

A listing is a focused advertisement created by your shop to offer a specific bottle of whisky for sale. It is displayed prominently on the right side of the corresponding bottle's product page on Whiskybase and in the "Whisky listings" tab below the bottle's information.

Each listing includes the bottle's price, the name of your shop, the country of origin of your shop, and a direct, actionable link that immediately redirects a potential buyer from Whiskybase to the specific product page on your shop's website, allowing them to complete the purchase.

In short, a listing serves as your shop's direct retail link to the specific bottle a user is currently viewing.

Note: Did you know that in Whiskybase there are more than 1.1 million whisky searches per month? Our listings are proven to be the most effective way to funnel this massive volume of dedicated whisky enthusiasts directly to your shop.

You can see the exact placement in the image below, which illustrates where listings are shown on a whisky bottle's page on Whiskybase.

There are two types of listings:

FREE LISTINGSSPONSORED LISTINGS
  • Any registered shop or member can add a free listing on Whiskybase
  • Free listings are ONLY shown to logged-in members
  • Free listings appear below sponsored listings
  • Only subscribed Sponsored Retailers can have sponsored listings
  • Sponsored listings are shown to ALL USERS (both logged-in and non-logged-in)
  • Sponsored Listings appear on top of free listings

Note: Only 20% of visitors are logged-in users, while 80% are not. Because Sponsored Listings are visible to everyone, they have the potential to reach a significantly larger number of whisky enthusiasts around the world.
