Can I review my own whisky?

Modified on Tue, 9 Dec at 11:58 AM

If you are a distiller, brand owner, or bottler, you may review or rate your own whisky on Whiskybase. This is allowed as long as the review is submitted from your personal Whiskybase account and not from an official brand account.

While this is permitted, it is important to understand how the community may respond. When a creator rates their own product, other members sometimes react by giving extra low scores. This can distort the overall rating and may not give a fair picture of how the whisky is received.

A more effective approach is to encourage respected, long-standing Whiskybase members to taste and review your whisky independently. These reviews tend to be trusted more by the community and often lead to a more accurate overall score.

Whiskybase values honest and transparent contributions, and the community is usually happy to share genuine feedback and help you understand how your whisky is experienced.

Note: Would you like to know how your brand is doing on Whiskybase? You can refer to our Partnerships page here for more information.
