When will my membership status change?

Modified on Fri, 3 Apr at 3:31 PM

Your membership status on Whiskybase is based on the number of points you earn by contributing to the platform. As your points increase, your status changes automatically. Each status level reflects how active you are in the community.

If you want to learn how to earn points, see: How do I earn points and how many can I get?

1. What is membership status?

Membership status is a way to show how much you have contributed to Whiskybase.
It does not affect what you can or cannot do on the platform. It simply recognizes your activity and involvement in the community.

Each status has a different color and title that appears on your profile.

2. Status levels and point requirements

The table below shows each membership level and the points needed to reach it.

STATUS LEVELPOINTS REQUIREDICON
Newbie0 points
Junior Member100 points
Senior Member250 points
Junior Expert1000 points
Senior Expert2000 points
Connoisseur10000 points

Your status updates automatically as soon as you cross the required number of points.

3. Other roles on Whiskybase

Some members have special roles because they help maintain the quality of the database. These roles are assigned by the Whiskybase team.

• Moderators: Help manage user-generated content
• Specialists: Review bottle information, images, and database accuracy
• Administrators: Oversee the platform and handle advanced data management

These roles are not based on points.

4. A community built on contributions

Membership status is simply a reflection of your activity and passion for whisky.
No matter your level, everyone is welcome to contribute, learn, and grow.

If you ever have questions about contributing or want tips, other Whiskybase members are always happy to help.
