A clear photo is one of the best ways to attract buyers. People want to see what they are buying, and good photos make your offer stand out. Marketplace listings with clear, detailed images often sell faster and build more trust.
Default and placeholder images
If you do not upload your own photo, a default image from Whiskybase will be used. When no default image is available, a placeholder image will appear instead.
A placeholder image does not help you sell your bottle faster. It gives buyers little confidence and makes it harder for them to choose between similar offers.
What should your photos show?
Your photos should clearly display the condition of the bottle and its packaging. Show the label, seal, and box or tube if available. This helps buyers understand exactly what they are purchasing and prevents misunderstandings later.
Always add photos if:
The label is damaged or stained
The box or tube is dented or has visible damage
The fill level is higher or lower than normal
The seal is not perfect, damaged, or unusual in any way
Extra tip: add identifying details
If your bottle has a unique number or code, take a clear photo of it. If something happens during transport, these details can help confirm the bottle was yours and in that condition before it was shipped.
