Why is a bottle picture missing from my collection?

In the collection overview, bottles are shown on virtual shelves. To appear correctly, each bottle needs a clean image with a transparent(white) background. If this type of image is not yet available in the Whiskybase database, the bottle will appear with a place holder image of a bottle without a label.


When a bottle image is not visible

A bottle image will not show in your collection when:

  1. There is no photo of the bottle with a transparent background

  2. The available photos include boxes, backgrounds, or objects around the bottle

  3. The existing image does not meet the quality level needed for the shelf view

Only bottles with a standalone, high quality cutout image are displayed in the collection shelf layout.


How you can help add the missing image

If the bottle is part of your collection, you can help by taking a clear photo of the bottle.

For best results:

  1. Photograph only the bottle

  2. Use a plain white background

  3. Ensure the bottle is well lit and the image is sharp

If the photo meets the required quality, our team can create the transparent background version needed for the collection view.
